Full Lawn Restoration

Major renovation for tired lawns

For lawns that are thin, uneven, or badly neglected. We do the full programme: scarify, aerate, overseed, plus restoration-level topdressing (typically 5-8mm+) and heavier seed rates where needed.

A Full Lawn Restoration goes beyond a standard renovation. We fix the underlying problems, then set you up with a plan to maintain it.

What is a Full Lawn Restoration?

A Full Lawn Restoration goes beyond a standard renovation. It combines scarification, aeration, heavy overseeding and restoration-level topdressing (typically 5-8mm+) in a single coordinated programme, then we set you up with a plan to maintain it.

Our monthly plans are designed to maintain and steadily improve lawns that are in reasonable condition. But if a lawn is heavily mossy, compacted, thin or neglected, it needs proper restoration first.

That's what a Full Restoration does. We fix the underlying problems - thatch, compaction, bare patches, poor soil - so the lawn has a strong foundation. From there, a monthly plan keeps the results going.

What a Full Restoration typically includes

  • Scarify / dethatch - intensity based on severity, multiple passes if needed
  • Aeration - solid or hollow tine depending on compaction
  • Heavy overseeding - higher seed rates than a standard renovation, matched to bare areas and lawn condition
  • Restoration-level topdressing - organic lawn dressing at depth (typically 5-8mm+) to level, improve soil structure and support heavy overseeding
  • Clear aftercare guidance - what to expect, when to mow, and how to water

Spring or autumn - it depends on your lawn

A Full Restoration can be done in spring or autumn - it depends when you contact us and what the lawn needs.

If it's late in the season, we'll advise the best route. Sometimes that means doing the groundwork now and returning when conditions suit for seeding and topdressing.

Is your lawn ready for a restoration?

A Full Restoration is right if:

  • Moss covers more than a quarter of the lawn
  • The lawn feels spongy or has a visible thatch layer
  • Water sits on the surface after rain
  • Large thin or bare patches are visible
  • The lawn has been neglected for more than a year

If your lawn is in reasonable shape but could be better, our monthly plans include an Annual Autumn Renovation as standard - you may not need a separate restoration.

What makes our restoration different

  • Full programme in one coordinated visit - not piecemeal treatments spread across weeks
  • Quality seed and organic topdressing - not budget materials that underperform
  • We do the work personally - not subcontracted to someone you’ve never met
  • Plan afterwards to maintain the results - not a one-off with no follow-up

Plans vs Full Restoration - how it works

Our monthly plans maintain and steadily improve lawns in reasonable condition. A Full Restoration is a one-off treatment for lawns that need intensive work first.

The typical path: we restore it properly once, then your monthly plan keeps it that way.

Restoration questions

How much does a Full Restoration cost?
A Full Restoration is quoted per lawn after a free survey, typically as a one-off cost. It usually costs less than a few months of plan payments, and the results last years. We'll give you an honest assessment and a clear price before we start.
Can I do a restoration and then join a plan?
That’s the ideal route. The restoration brings the lawn back to a healthy baseline, and the monthly plan maintains it from there. The typical path is restore once, then join a plan.
How long does it take for the lawn to recover?
You’ll see the lawn looking cleaner immediately, but it will look open for 2-4 weeks as new grass establishes. By the end of the following season, the improvement is significant. We’ll give you clear aftercare guidance so you know what to expect.
