Why I started Greener
I've always loved lawns. The best part is the transformation, taking something tired, mossy, compacted or thin, and turning it into a lawn you actually enjoy looking at.
A few years ago (around 2020) I ran Sunnyway Lawn Care locally. Then Covid hit and my other business (online retail) took off, so I put lawn care on the back burner and focused on that full-time. That business has slowed down a lot since, and I realised something pretty simple: I miss doing what I genuinely enjoy.
So I'm starting again, this time as Greener Lawn Care, launching in spring 2026.
“Greener” isn't a gimmick. It's just how I prefer to work: battery-powered mowing, organic-based / soil-focused feeds, and minimal chemical use with targeted weed treatment rather than blanket spraying. I'm more interested in building a healthier lawn over time (soil biology, thicker grass, less moss pressure) than chasing quick cosmetic fixes.
Right now it's owner-operated, you deal with me. As we grow, I'll keep it small, with occasional family help for bigger renovation days. Either way, the goal stays the same: proper lawn care, done carefully, with straight answers and no nonsense.
Our approach
We're not chemical-free, and we're not going to pretend we are. But we've made considered choices to be gentler on your lawn, your soil, and the environment - without compromising results.
Organic-based feeds
Products chosen to feed the soil biology, not just green the grass. They improve soil structure over time, building a healthier lawn from the ground up.
Targeted weed treatment
We use spot spraying to apply treatment directly to individual weeds. Many providers apply weed control broadly across the whole lawn. Our approach puts less product on your lawn and is more precise - the weed gets treated, your grass doesn’t.
Battery-powered mowing equipment
Regular mowing visits use battery-powered equipment, mower, strimmer, and blower. No petrol fumes and a lot quieter. For specialist renovation work like heavy scarifying, some kit is still petrol while battery alternatives catch up.
Electric van
All visits in an electric van. It’s not zero-carbon - it charges from the grid - but it’s lower emissions per visit than a diesel van.
